- [11:59] Alexa Linden: today's agenda is https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Monday_Agenda for anyone just joining us
- [11:59] Soft Linden: You, me, and 20 of our closest friends. Yus.
- [11:59] Techwolf Lupindo: Bunnies...MMmmm...;-)
- [11:59] Alexa Linden: Hey Gellan :)
- [12:00] Squirrel Wood: /ao off
- [12:00] Soft Linden: Not food.
- [12:00] Alexa Linden: and we're starting with patches today
- [12:00] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13260
- [12:00] Techwolf Lupindo: Now what make you think I was thinking of food Soft? :-)
- [12:00] Alexa Linden: Create preference for toggling lip sync (client side, all avatars) in Preferences
- [12:00] Moon Metty: phew, just in time
- [12:00] Harleen Gretzky: Hi Soft
- [12:00] WolfPup Lowenhar: hey soft
- [12:01] Soft Linden: Hey hey
- [12:01] Moon Metty: hi everyone :)
- [12:01] Alexa Linden: correction - https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6918
- [12:01] Soft Linden: This one we can leae out here. This is getting done in the open source branch.
- [12:01] Soft Linden: Ah, kay
- [12:01] Alexa Linden: sorry - lagged for a sec
- [12:01] Soft Linden: Same answer for this though
- [12:01] Angela Talamasca: VRW-13260 => seems like adding a check box to the voice com panel would be fairly straight forward.
- [12:01] Soft Linden: The comments suggest that they're going to put it in the open source branch.
- [12:01] Mm Alder: How does that notification get passed onto the peopl in the open source branch?
- [12:02] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: hello all!
- [12:02] Soft Linden: Mm - we could add a comment reminder
- [12:02] Mm Alder: Does it get into the internal JIRA?
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: I can ping OS
- [12:02] Soft Linden: It would when it gets committed to the open source branch
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: on 6918
- [12:03] Soft Linden: I'll add comments on both of these saying we're holding off import in anticipation of the http-texture commit
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: so I can ping OS and add last triaged date?
- [12:03] Mm Alder: But how does one get the http-textuer commit without an inter JIRA?
- [12:03] Soft Linden: Sure, Alexa
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:04] Soft Linden: Mm - anyone with commit access can commit it to the open source branch - there's no internal JIRA needed up to that point
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: next up is https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13578
- [12:04] Soft Linden: It just needs to go through the patch review for peer sign-off
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: Show XUI Names is broken
- [12:05] Opensource Obscure: I'm running 1.23.2 (120258) and I think I can confirm this. I don't know Show XUI Names well, but - on all floaters it displays"/Menu Holder" here
- [12:05] Maya Remblai: Is [1] on today's list?
- [12:05] Maya Remblai: it's not even been assigned yet
- [12:05] Gellan Glenelg: Maya: [2]
- [12:06] WolfPup Lowenhar: same here and im on 1.23PN
- [12:07] Soft Linden: VWR-13578 seems pretty straightforward
- [12:07] WolfPup Lowenhar: for the xui floaters
- [12:07] Opensource Obscure: afk.
- [12:07] Soft Linden: Mm - would you want that on the public branch, or should we just import and go with the normal process?
- [12:07] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: I had it on the previous version of 1.23, i can not say if this version of 1.23 has the same issue, i did not see it yet. ill try it out after the meeting
- [12:07] Mm Alder: Whatever gets it fixed.
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: I'll import then :)
- [12:08] Soft Linden: Yar.
- [12:08] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: i know how to duplicate the bug, so ill be checking that out to be sure
- [12:08] Soft Linden: Alexa - go ahead and assign to me?
- [12:08] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: hey Dessie!
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: will do soft
- [12:08] Soft Linden: Looks really straightforward, I'll drop it in maint-viewer
- [12:08] Dessie Linden: hey Youri!
- [12:08] Multi Gadget: v1.57.1 by Timeless Prototype
- [12:08] Dessie Linden: heya everyone!
- [12:08] Moon Metty: hi Dessie :)
- [12:09] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: great meeting you again Dessie!
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13221
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: Allow panning of the mini-map
- [12:09] Moon Metty: a FR ?
- [12:09] Soft Linden: I'll add a note to this - in the last open source meeting, it was suggested that this gets discussion on sl-ux before anything else
- [12:09] Gordon Wendt: I think there's already an issue on this with much more support
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: kk
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13519
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: "Buy" and "Take" pie menu entries can't currently be translated
- [12:10] Gellan Glenelg: already imported
- [12:10] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: for dutch it is translatable
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: aha it is
- [12:10] Soft Linden: Yup, imported and fix pending
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13516
- [12:11] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: only problem we gave is that the text gets too long usually
- [12:11] Soft Linden: Can be marked fix pending and branch viewer_1-23
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: 1. Second Life Viewer - VWR
- "createDummyWidget: Making dummy text named ne_label in mini_mapview" warnings on login
- Created: Thursday 06:44 PM Updated: Today 11:13 AM
- [12:11] Soft Linden: (the last one)
- [12:11] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: which makes tekst run of the windows or trough other text and simular things
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: kicks her lag hard
- [12:12] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: i did not get that message so far
- [12:12] Soft Linden: Import this and pass it to me?
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:12] Soft Linden: Also a super quickie. wanna see if I can bypass a bunch of shuffling and talking about it!
- [12:12] Moon Metty: :)
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: next up - popular by votes
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4253
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: Estate tools showing wildly inaccurate script times
- [12:13] Uni Ninetails: mmmmm....
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: thinks this is a dup
- [12:13] Moon Metty: looks like SVC-3819, which is being fixed
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: it seems like we've had one or two like this before?
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: thanks moon :D
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: mind reader, you
- [12:13] Moon Metty: by Andrew and Simon
- [12:14] Harleen Gretzky: This is teh opposite though
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: I can ping them and ask if the fix will touch this issue too
- [12:15] Moon Metty: yes Harleen, SVC-3819 has 2 parts
- [12:15] Alexa Linden: what do you think soft?
- [12:15] Soft Linden: I was just hunting for a dupe, not finding it
- [12:15] Soft Linden: sure sounds familiar
- [12:15] Angela Talamasca: is this the one that had to do with some sort of memory leaks in mono?
- [12:16] Sheet Spotter: There are two issues listed under "Relates To", but they are different.
- [12:16] Soft Linden: Not finding it.
- [12:16] Moon Metty: it's about sleeping scripts showing up as topscripts
- [12:16] Soft Linden: Yeah, I'd import this for QA to poke at
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: sounds good
- [12:17] Angela Talamasca: ah, okay
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11420
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: Objects/textures are removed from viewer memory too aggressively
- [12:17] EddyFragment Robonaught: yup
- [12:17] WolfPup Lowenhar: most defantly
- [12:17] Soft Linden: Reported by Dan Linden
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: we triaged rescently
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: and that too
- [12:17] WolfPup Lowenhar: it is getting to the point that it is nealy imposilbe fo4 me to build
- [12:18] Dessie Linden: did this happen in 1.22 also?
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: import to qa?
- [12:18] Soft Linden: Ha. I'd import and assign to Dan :)
- [12:18] Maya Remblai: Still happens
- [12:18] Gordon Wendt: There's a couple of these, there's one for scripts being removed too aggresively and a few others as well I think
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: lol meany
- [12:18] Soft Linden: But ya, QA at least
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:18] WolfPup Lowenhar: it is crossing over to my 1.22
- [12:18] Dessie Linden: thanks, WolfPup
- [12:18] Harleen Gretzky: I don't see it in 1.22
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3440
- [12:18] Squirrel Wood: I think that anything within the set view distance around the player should stay in memory
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: llGetParcelFlags gives incorrect information
- [12:18] EddyFragment Robonaught: I didnt see it but dont go backwards
- [12:19] WolfPup Lowenhar: so basicly it is affecting all version that are loaded on my system
- [12:19] Maya Remblai: I usually don't see it in 1.22 but I also don't travel much
- [12:19] Dessie Linden: kk, thanks folks
- [12:19] Sheet Spotter: While sitting here, I pulled my camera back and my hair texture had to reload in 1.23.2 (120258)
- [12:19] WolfPup Lowenhar: < thinks there might be some cross talking going on to be affecting all version on my system
- [12:20] Harleen Gretzky: don't really need to travel, just turn around wait like 15 minutes turn back around the textures need to reload in 1,23
- [12:20] Uni Ninetails: Similar things happening here 1.23 (rc1)
- [12:20] Maya Remblai: Yeah that happens in 1.22
- [12:20] WolfPup Lowenhar: not even that long harleen
- [12:20] Dessie Linden: sorry folks, I seem to have derailed the mtg
- [12:20] Dessie Linden: we should be on SVC-3440, I think
- [12:20] Dessie Linden: :o)
- [12:20] Dirk Talamasca: WTG Dessie
- [12:20] Soft Linden: For SVC-3440 - I'd import for QA, but also add a note to look at the comments for additional flag problems
- [12:20] Dessie Linden: :O
- [12:20] Maya Remblai: If I'm building I'll keep my camera in one spot, the rest of the time I move too much to see it
- [12:20] WolfPup Lowenhar: even a minute or more tit will shouw up
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: ok qa it is
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13471
- [12:21] Dessie Linden: Quick, Alexa!
- [12:21] WolfPup Lowenhar: move his cam alot when building
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: llSetPrimitiveParams for fullbright true/false sporadically works & sticks
- [12:21] EddyFragment Robonaught: true
- [12:22] Moon Metty: dupe of the transparency bug?
- [12:22] Soft Linden: It might be
- [12:22] Maya Remblai: Possibly, there are all kinds of issues with transparency
- [12:22] Angela Talamasca: yes, this is specific to rc 1.23 however i do think it also is part of other rendering differences i have noticed in rc 1.23
- [12:22] Maya Remblai: Public Nightly has the same issues
- [12:22] Soft Linden: Anyone have the transparency bug JIRA handy?
- [12:22] Maya Remblai: At least the last one I got does
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: vwr-13081?
- [12:22] WolfPup Lowenhar: it might be another part of the meta textures issue
- [12:22] Moon Metty: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12987
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: dang
- [12:23] Maya Remblai: (I still don't get the BSI emails)
- [12:23] Moon Metty: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13097
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: lol thanks moon
- [12:23] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: thats with all small prims actually
- [12:23] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: i noticed that on 1.21 aswell
- [12:23] Angela Talamasca: just looking at the xparency jira, i would agree. you may be looking at a similar area of the code.
- [12:23] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: you pretty much have to be standing next to it to see them
- [12:24] Uni Ninetails: sounds like that set transparency issue ah yess thres the cubes ^^
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: related to or dup?
- [12:24] WolfPup Lowenhar: thost could relate to https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8503
- [12:24] Maya Remblai: I kinda think all the transparency bugs are related, even the initial avatar transparency stuff is bugged
- [12:24] Soft Linden: Because it's pretty late in the 1.23 cycle, I'd import and link it as related to the other two
- [12:24] Maya Remblai: they all act in a similar manner
- [12:24] Angela Talamasca: well, my jira is simply setting the point light and bright values. the point light is working. the bright sporadically works in rc1.23
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: ok will do
- [12:24] Soft Linden: Then if someone is fixing one of those, they can say whether this would be covered.
- [12:25] Alexa Linden: sounds good
- [12:25] Angela Talamasca: interestingly when u select the object, the behavior changes.
- [12:25] Uni Ninetails: or cam round it
- [12:25] Alexa Linden: get your waterwings on
- [12:25] Alexa Linden: it's time for the misc. pool
- [12:25] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: would be best to get it worked on, sicne details aswell will be faded away untill you are near
- [12:25] Maya Remblai: Late in 1.23? I hope that means 1.24 and its alpha masking is coming soon... *drool*
- [12:25] Moon Metty: :)
- [12:25] Alexa Linden: first up we have https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1106
- [12:25] Uni Ninetails: woohoo!
- [12:25] Alexa Linden: SL OpenID provider is whitelisting RPs
- [12:26] Aimee Trescothick: this would be a feature request, LL has made no commitment to do it
- [12:26] Soft Linden: Right. We're not acting as a general OpenID server right now.
- [12:27] Aimee Trescothick: and certainly not a Showstopper :)
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: move to FR then?
- [12:27] Soft Linden: Yeah
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: lol no, it isn't
- [12:27] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: I open links with Firefox, I hate the viewers own explorer. it usually crashes or lags up very badly
- [12:27] Aimee Trescothick: I think there's probably a FR for it somewhere already at a guess
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: add triaged date? import?
- [12:27] Soft Linden: No need for import
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:28] Soft Linden: I'll add a comment and mark it a dupe of WEB-60
- [12:28] WolfPup Lowenhar: < is useing ie8 to open links so viewer dose not lock up
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: moving, downgrading and adding date then
- [12:28] Soft Linden: WEB-60 is Add OpenID provider service to site
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1096
- [12:28] Aimee Trescothick: ah yeah, knew it was there somewhere
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: Xstreet is not crediting all accounts for L$ deposits made
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: support?
- [12:28] Angela Talamasca: ah, good to see this one!
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: so it's across the board angela?
- [12:29] Angela Talamasca: i made a deposit last night that has yet to show up. and it was never re-credited back to my main acct. so now it is sitting somewhere in limbo.
- [12:29] Squirrel Wood: I'm still wondering why xstreet still charges the 5% commission fee...
- [12:29] Harleen Gretzky: hasn't happened to me but from the frum link posted it is multiple people
- [12:29] Uni Ninetails: -
- [12:29] Dirk Talamasca: Yeah I deposited 534,247 L# just this morning and it has just gone missing
- [12:29] Harleen Gretzky: *forum
- [12:29] Uni Ninetails: booo 5%
- [12:29] Angela Talamasca: one thing that strikes me as very frustrating is that there is *no support* for xstreet problems.
- [12:29] Gordon Wendt: Alexa, I think it's more than just isolated incidents even though the first people were all told to contact support
- [12:29] Soft Linden: Yar. Contact support.
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: gotcha
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: I can do both
- [12:30] Soft Linden: If they find a trend, they'll come to engineering screaaaaaaaming like you wouldn't believe.
- [12:30] Gordon Wendt: Dirk, you wish you had that much :)
- [12:30] WolfPup Lowenhar: that might be a reminat from when you could not even acces xstreet
- [12:30] Arawn Spitteler: No Support sounds like a WEB- Showsytopper
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: say for indivual help file a ticket
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: but import this to look at the problem as a whole?
- [12:30] Angela Talamasca: have contacted support multiple times. black hole. spoke with concierge. says it's not their problem.
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: can you all add your comments?
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: along with dates
- [12:31] WolfPup Lowenhar: it could be related to https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1094 even though that was fixed
- [12:31] Soft Linden: Or the ticket IDs if you have them
- [12:31] Angela Talamasca: will def do. i didn't realize there was a jira for this.
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: so we can document the passing of time and no $ showing up
- [12:31] Angela Talamasca: i have the xstreet ticket ids too.
- [12:32] Gordon Wendt: Alexa, should we link all the pre-existing issues that were referred to support as related?
- [12:32] Squirrel Wood: staples vwr-13433 to Softs left ear :p (16:9/16:10 screen/window resolutions)
- [12:32] Arawn Spitteler: thought Concierge was for people who are not supposed to have problems
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: yes please
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: I'm going to import this and ping the xstreet people
- [12:32] Maya Remblai: snerks
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: so please comment :)
- [12:32] Angela Talamasca: okay
- [12:32] Moon Metty: it's a good idea, but maybe not, and I'm not being indecisive
- [12:33] Moon Metty: :)
- [12:33] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: If i may ask, what is going to happen with the Pie menu? I see it is changed in 1.23, but i just got info from a friend it will be back to normal
- [12:33] Angela Talamasca: well, i sent a ticket last night. and then another this morning. and then spoke with concierge who told me it wasn't their problem.
- [12:33] Angela Talamasca: though it wasn't much (unlike my bro. lol), it is still frustrating.
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: can we touch on that at the ned of the meeting Youri?
- [12:34] Squirrel Wood: the pie menu change was not a good idea. Much used functions were moved to the 2nd level
- [12:34] Dirk Talamasca: :O
- [12:34] Soft Linden: I think the pie menu is going to be changed to run away from the mouse and vibrate noisily as a way of taunting you. Or end of the meeting question. Yus.
- [12:34] Angela Talamasca: lol @ the new and improved pie menu.
- [12:34] Moon Metty: the pie menu is already different in PN2
- [12:34] WolfPup Lowenhar: i think tsome of them are back to the first level with 1.23.2
- [12:34] Harleen Gretzky: No second level anymore in 1.23.2
- [12:34] Moon Metty: no 2nd level ..
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: next up is https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13512
- [12:34] Latif Khalifa: but still not the same, for example groups is missing
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: Texture upload is charged silently before successful upload, resulting in erroneous charge for failed texture upload
- [12:34] EddyFragment Robonaught: textures again
- [12:35] Arawn Spitteler: I understand a fix isin 1.23.2, but haven't hsad the opporunity to update my RC
- [12:35] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: okay, well just curious. The old way seems to be the better way and less problematic aswell, thats why I asked
- [12:35] Soft Linden: Core should check this out. If the charge doesn't happen as part of the successful upload callback, it really should.
- [12:35] Techwolf Lupindo: I just had this before this meeting. Someone was just complaing to me about a failed upload, but was charge for it.
- [12:35] Alexa Linden: import to core - will do
- [12:35] Moon Metty: money should be charged after a successful upload
- [12:35] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12476
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: Voice Chat Failure
- [12:36] EddyFragment Robonaught: I had a brief state of double dialogs for chrged uploads
- [12:36] Maya Remblai: that was a different issue Eddy
- [12:36] WolfPup Lowenhar: i c this happen if i have been on for at leat 7 hours
- [12:36] EddyFragment Robonaught: yup sure
- [12:36] Maya Remblai: It gave two dialogs but only charged once
- [12:36] Dirk Talamasca: Why not just move drop and stop jacking with the rest of it? Detach causes no content loss while drop MAY. Although the reason given forn moving drop is totally insensitive of protecting residents from content loss but is being implemented to prevent them actually showing their pee pees. Good planning there guys.
- [12:37] WolfPup Lowenhar: and it will just silently fail and the SLVoice process gose away
- [12:37] EddyFragment Robonaught: voice failier noted
- [12:37] Soft Linden: "Voice chat failure" is pretty general. Ella McMahon's comment there lists a few specific ones. I'd ask if this covers anything not already in those existing JIRAs.
- [12:37] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: voice vailure is on 1.21 and 1.23 aswell
- [12:37] EddyFragment Robonaught: I still cant confirm that my PC is not the problem for me tho.
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:38] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: I have a feeling its more a server problems then viewer problem
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: NMI then
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: and I'll ask
- [12:38] Soft Linden: Yar.
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5559
- [12:38] Dirk Talamasca: Voice on 1.23 is solid as a rock for me.. 1.22 is horrifying
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: Viewer crashes with ATI Radeon HD 3650 GPU
- [12:38] WolfPup Lowenhar: im have the SLVoice process that hanldes the voise just turn iteself off and stop running
- [12:39] WolfPup Lowenhar: < wants to smack the chat lag
- [12:39] Soft Linden: So, we imported the meta issue for Catalyst issues, with the request that graphics devs look at linked issues
- [12:39] Soft Linden: This one is linked to that.
- [12:39] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: did this person update their drivers? could solve the problem
- [12:39] Dirk Talamasca: Awesome
- [12:39] Soft Linden: I think we can just do the date on this specific one, as it should be seen as part of that
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:40] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: hold on
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: holds
- [12:40] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: it doesnt load a few things
- [12:40] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: tell this person to install SL clean
- [12:40] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: so get everything off his/her pc and then a clean install
- [12:40] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: i have a feeling that should take care of the problem
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: ok I'll add that to the comments
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: thanks :)
- [12:41] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: I think his/her virus scanner (or the perosn self) deleted soem files
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1669 - Estate tool top scripts should not show avatar attachments.
- [12:41] EddyFragment Robonaught: On estate top scripts may I add a quick idea for allowing scripters to view those stats too. I'll add feature request on approval
- [12:41] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: some*
- [12:42] Soft Linden: The summary on this could use a fix
- [12:42] Sheet Spotter: That is long standing behavior. I'm not sure I understand the need for change.
- [12:42] Moon Metty: topscripts now shows avatars separately
- [12:42] Soft Linden: Does it still show avatars separately when they're sitting?
- [12:42] Moon Metty: lol i didn't try that
- [12:42] Maya Remblai: Last time I tried it did
- [12:42] Angela Talamasca: this doesn't seem to be a bug, imo.
- [12:42] Soft Linden: checks...
- [12:42] Latif Khalifa: the last commant claims it still adds avatar scripts to the object too
- [12:43] Harleen Gretzky: Shows both
- [12:43] Moon Metty: hmmm
- [12:43] Gordon Wendt: can't people make up their *#$& minds when it comes to the top scripts display?
- [12:43] Angela Talamasca: ah, okay, so it is doubling up then?
- [12:43] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: Arawn, i see you all pixel like from where I am at, the rest I see normally
- [12:43] Harleen Gretzky: Shows the avatar separate but objects sat upon still include the avatar time
- [12:43] Latif Khalifa: gordon, this is about attachment script times showing in an object that avatar sits on
- [12:43] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: (did I just discover another bug??)
- [12:43] Maya Remblai: Sounds like Avatar Imposters Youri
- [12:43] Soft Linden: This looks to be fixed.
- [12:44] Soft Linden: I'm looking at top scripts right now, and the seating isn't counting the avatars.
- [12:44] Gordon Wendt: Latif, ah, in general people keep fighting about what to display, what not to display, how to display it, in top scripts
- [12:44] Latif Khalifa: Soft, do these sits have scripts in them?
- [12:44] Uni Ninetails: seats are unscripted?
- [12:44] Angela Talamasca: okay, so doubling up makes no sense. though, once the avi sits, they're linked to the object, so that might make it tough to distinguish from a coding pov.
- [12:44] Soft Linden: I don't think that only applies to scripted seats, but we can test that easily
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: in for qa?
- [12:44] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: hello prim
- [12:44] Angela Talamasca: sure. let's do it!
- [12:45] EddyFragment Robonaught: lol Alexa
- [12:45] Soft Linden: Yeah, this looks fixed. I'd NMI, ask if they still see it in 1.26
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: shouts: ok
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: eesh
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1731
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: Unable to access Region from Teleport /LandMark or from logging into Second Life. Only flying in from an adjacent region works.
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: parcel access versun sim access?
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: versus*
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: and did the set a sim landing spot?
- [12:47] Angela Talamasca: ummm, isn't this a support issue?
- [12:47] Soft Linden: Uuuusually this is a problem that ops needs to fix on a specific region. But the comments on this are ancient. I'd NMI to ask if it's still happening, and urge them to contact support if so
- [12:47] Latif Khalifa: if this is an estate sim, they need to double check "allow direct teleports" is on
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: harleen tried to send to support :p
- [12:47] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: version 1.19
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: that too latif
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: I agree that it's support
- [12:47] Soft Linden: Does blocking direct teleports affect go-home even?
- [12:48] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: old bug, probably not there in 1.20 or later
- [12:48] Angela Talamasca: i've run into this problem at various times, but it has *never* been a bug.
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: ouch
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: ya old date
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: nmi it is :)
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: with the "go to support" info
- [12:48] Angela Talamasca: yeah, see that old date now. lol
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: another older one
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1738
- [12:49] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: I do have to say, if you are in a laggy sim and try to TP to home or any other place, you better off with logging out and logging back in at home
- [12:49] Alexa Linden: Grid Preformance Memory Leak
- [12:49] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: TP's usually fail horribly and even can couse a crash most of the times
- [12:49] Alexa Linden: ya, I've had to do that to get out of a store :\
- [12:49] Soft Linden: I don't see that we can do anything on this issue specifically. There are already other memory leak issues.
- [12:49] WolfPup Lowenhar: dang it has been 6 mo since the last entry on that one
- [12:49] Angela Talamasca: this is another one that doesn't seem to be a bug.
- [12:49] Alexa Linden: ok - I'll tie to a main one'
- [12:50] Aimee Trescothick: leaky grid, better replace the rubber seals
- [12:50] Angela Talamasca: get the life jackets!
- [12:50] Soft Linden: Yar, could just dupe and point out that there are other targeted memory leak issues.
- [12:50] Angela Talamasca: erm... i mean, second life jackets!
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: old one from lex
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1868
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: link_message() events can get Bounds Check Error if event queue is full
- [12:50] Aimee Trescothick: maybe that's why the water disappears in this region sometimes
- [12:50] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: Affects Version/s: Mono Beta, Havok4 Beta, 1.18.6 Server, 1.19.0 Server
- [12:50] Soft Linden: I have the hugest of cigars to give the Linden who can close a single 'all memory leaks in viewer and server both' JIRA.
- [12:50] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: so no further details on newer viewers
- [12:51] Maya Remblai: Closing a JIRA doesn't make it fixed :P
- [12:51] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: true
- [12:51] Latif Khalifa: Soft, sim memory leaks seem to be much worse since 1.25 or so
- [12:51] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: only saying we need some people on those viewers testing this
- [12:52] Soft Linden: There are definitely some performance problems - I don't know if they're memory leaks specifically.
- [12:52] Moon Metty: shortly after a restart a region is always performing better
- [12:52] Latif Khalifa: Soft, yes there are, Prospero and Vektor confirmed sims using up to 2GB of ram
- [12:52] Angela Talamasca: well, if the thing is written in c# and you're relying on gc, then, not suprised you're seeing mem leaks.
- [12:52] Latif Khalifa: and frame time goes into *seconds*
- [12:53] Soft Linden: Ouch - that would be a problem alright.
- [12:53] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: usually yeah, only the problem is that it still gets laggy really quickly again
- [12:53] WolfPup Lowenhar: < might think if going to work for LL just to try :)
- [12:53] Moon Metty: lol yup
- [12:53] Latif Khalifa: Moon, remember that MISC- number?
- [12:53] Moon Metty: ehhmmm
- [12:53] Moon Metty: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-2329
- [12:53] Techwolf Lupindo: Need to form a plumber group. Task them with finding and fixing leaks. :-)
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: thanks moon :)
- [12:54] Latif Khalifa: a lot of data in that one :)
- [12:54] Alexa Linden: ok we have 5 minutes left
- [12:54] Alexa Linden: Youri asked about the pie menu
- [12:54] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: lol, good one tech
- [12:54] Alexa Linden: Dessie do you have any info on this?
- [12:54] Soft Linden: I'll add a note to the internal counterpart of MISC-2329, pointing out that you're still asking about it
- [12:55] Angela Talamasca: that still looks like some sort of mem prob.
- [12:55] Soft Linden: also noted that there's plenty of extra data in the public comments
- [12:55] Dessie Linden: sorry, folks... distracted there
- [12:55] Latif Khalifa: Maybe Dessie can tell us if the pie menu is going to be reverted in 1.23
- [12:55] Aimee Trescothick: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8080
- [12:55] Arawn Spitteler: I didn't get a message to upgrade, when I logged on with the RC
- [12:55] Techwolf Lupindo: Due to the pie menu can tell the difference between a hud and attacted prim on avatar body, keep it at one level so musle memory does not mess things up.
- [12:55] Dessie Linden: I think we've done all we're going to do with it for now
- [12:55] Moon Metty: Dessie, when can we expect a new PN or RC?
- [12:55] Techwolf Lupindo: can=can't
- [12:56] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: if i can reask,: what is goign on witht he pie menu for 1.23? will it be as it is in the beta version or back to orriginal?
- [12:56] Dessie Linden: RC2 will go out Wednesday
- [12:56] Maya Remblai: And when will work start on 1.24
- [12:56] Moon Metty: alright thank you
- [12:56] Maya Remblai: I got a lot of people asking me that
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: is too used to the old pie menu and this old dog is not good at new tricks :p
- [12:56] Uni Ninetails: any notes on rc2?
- [12:56] Dessie Linden: not exactly certain when 1.24 might start
- [12:56] Latif Khalifa: Dessie, but the pie menu is still not back to its normal self as in 1.22... for example groups option is missing
- [12:56] Maya Remblai: Might want to get on [3] then :P
- [12:56] Dessie Linden: you can find what we've done so far by looking at the Public Nightly release notes
- [12:57] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: getting the pie menu back to normal will stop problems for 1.23 in advance
- [12:57] Dessie Linden: they cover most of what has gone in between RC1 and RC2
- [12:57] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: i had already a lot of complaints from people that didnt even like the idea
- [12:57] Aimee Trescothick: to quote Q on VWR-8080 "We're not planning to just roll back the change to the original state – we think that we had good reason for making this change to help new users and improve consistency in the UI, and reduce accidental nudity by moving troublesome items away from the lower right quadrant. However, we're willing to go back to a flat (one-layer) menu so that everything is one click away, and take away a couple of the less important items."
- [12:57] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: and i dont mean 5 or 10 people, but 100+
- [12:57] Dessie Linden: the pie menus you see in RC2 will probably be the final 1.23 pie menus
- [12:58] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: yes, I been talking to a lot about the new viewer
- [12:58] Latif Khalifa: Dessie, but why remove "Groups"?
- [12:58] Latif Khalifa: switching active group is somehting done frequently
- [12:58] Dessie Linden: Latif, I can't tell you exactly why the choice was made
- [12:58] WolfPup Lowenhar: yes groups was handy
- [12:58] Maya Remblai: I'll be content to have Edit where it's supposed to be, but there are other things that should go back to normal
- [12:58] WolfPup Lowenhar: < liked having groups on the first level of the piemenu
- [12:58] Dessie Linden: The general idea behind the pie menu changes was to make things friendlier for new residents
- [12:58] Latif Khalifa: now there is a lot of clicking involved in order to switch group
- [12:59] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: i rather want to know: on right click on attached part, you now get 'appearance' instead of 'edit'
- [12:59] Maya Remblai: There was a JIRA asking for that pie menu layout.
- [12:59] Alexa Linden: I'm off to another meeting but want to thank all of you for another amazing triage. you all rock and thanks for all your assistance and insight!
- [12:59] Sheet Spotter: wishes they would add pecan to the pie menu. *slap*
