- [15:05] Bridie Linden: First up:
- [15:05] Bridie Linden: VWR-7174[c
- [15:05] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7174
- [15:05] Squirrel Wood: glow... latest RCs HUD objects can't glow at all. other than that, yes. objects (glowing) behind transparent objects (glowing) glow way intense.
- [15:06] Bridie Linden: So is this a dupe?
- [15:06] Bridie Linden: not new in 1.20?
- [15:06] Bridie Linden: Pastrami, do you know?
- [15:06] Gellan Glenelg: not sure it's a dupe... but there are several other relating to glow
- [15:06] Pastrami Linden: if it's only showing up in latest,
- [15:06] Pastrami Linden: it may be worth having BigPapi have a look
- [15:07] Harleen Gretzky: Affected versions lists 1.19.1.4
- [15:07] Pastrami Linden: assign to me
- [15:07] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:07] Bridie Linden: Agreed
- [15:07] Pastrami Linden: I'l have a look
- [15:07] Bridie Linden: NExt up
- [15:07] Bridie Linden: VWR-7251[c
- [15:08] Bri Gufler: I think I have seen this in both 1.19.1 and 1.20 though it was really just a minor thing to me
- [15:08] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7251
- [15:08] Squirrel Wood: ye. but on 1.19 the hud objects (not mentioned in issue actually) DO glow.
- [15:08] Bridie Linden: But Cynebald commented "Yeah, I strongly suspect it's my odd-ball nVidia laptop graphics board. "
- [15:08] Bridie Linden: Thoughts Pastrami?
- [15:09] Light: on:
- [15:09] Light: off:
- [15:09] Light: on:
- [15:09] Pastrami Linden: no way for me to tell without getting BP
- [15:09] Light: off:
- [15:09] Pastrami Linden: s input,
- [15:09] Light: on:
- [15:09] Squirrel Wood: crowded areas are a MAJOR performance hit
- [15:09] Bridie Linden: Maybe wait and see w/next RC?
- [15:09] Pastrami Linden: since he has dealt with the HUD/glow issues
- [15:09] Gellan Glenelg: I wonder if he's comparing "same graphics settings" of "everything turned on"?
- [15:09] Squirrel Wood: also heavilly congested (prims, prims, prims) areas drag down the frame rate considerably
- [15:10] Bridie Linden: I'm on 7251 Pastrami
- [15:10] Pastrami Linden: oh sorry
- [15:10] Squirrel Wood: => rendering cost
- [15:10] Pastrami Linden: these types of general ones-
- [15:10] Pastrami Linden: you know my thoughts-
- [15:10] Pastrami Linden: it's heavily dependent upon user hardware and we solve it much better using our own metrics
- [15:11] Pastrami Linden: avergaes, etc.
- [15:11] Pastrami Linden: I'd say Won't Finish
- [15:11] Pastrami Linden: given his comments
- [15:11] Bridie Linden: kk
- [15:12] Bridie Linden: Next up
- [15:12] Bri Gufler: I believe your system requirements page says that Quadro cards are untested as well.
- [15:12] Bridie Linden: VWR-6597[c
- [15:12] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6597
- [15:12] Squirrel Wood: afaik that setting is auto detected and set by the client to avoid confusion and to prevent people from setting it to values that won't work
- [15:13] Squirrel Wood: like, 768 instead of the 512 that the card has on board
- [15:13] Meghan Dench: No Torley?
- [15:13] Bridie Linden: Not today Meghan
- [15:13] Pastrami Linden: this sounds like one for Zen
- [15:13] Meghan Dench: :(
- [15:14] Pastrami Linden: for those with dual cards,
- [15:14] Pastrami Linden: I think this is a very old problem
- [15:14] Alexa Linden: ok - assigning to zen then?
- [15:14] Pastrami Linden: yep
- [15:14] Bridie Linden: kk
- [15:14] Alexa Linden: note
- [15:14] Alexa Linden: d
- [15:14] Squirrel Wood: dual cards pose a problen as in 512+512 = 512 and not 1024
- [15:14] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:14] Squirrel Wood: people have trouble to understand why that is
- [15:14] Bridie Linden: Next up
- [15:14] Bridie Linden: # VWR-6699[c
- [15:15] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6699
- [15:15] Bridie Linden: hums 'if a 6 turned out to be 9'...
- [15:15] Meghan Dench: ?
- [15:15] Meghan Dench: FTW!
- [15:15] Pastrami Linden: this is very minor
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: is that a supported card?
- [15:16] Pastrami Linden: well, what's odd is that under MacOS it works,
- [15:16] Pastrami Linden: XP doesn't
- [15:16] Squirrel Wood: bootcamp may have something to do with this issue ?
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: right
- [15:16] Pastrami Linden: I don't think so
- [15:16] Pastrami Linden: Zen
- [15:16] Pastrami Linden: but this is really minor
- [15:17] Meghan Dench: Regardless if it is minor or not, a bug is a bug. :D
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: Next up
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: [c
- [15:17] Squirrel Wood: BUG REPORT!
- [15:17] Squirrel Wood: Tools > Bug Reporting..
- [15:17] Squirrel Wood: [1]
- [15:17] Meghan Dench: LOL
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6740
- [15:17] Bri Gufler: I have seen this spacenavigator problem when running SL and Photoshop at the same time as well
- [15:18] Squirrel Wood: looks pretty clear to me
- [15:18] Bri Gufler: Is it because SL doesnt use the spacenavigator drivers?
- [15:18] Bri Gufler: I think it was Q linden that mentioned you don't use the 3dconnexion drivers.
- [15:18] Bridie Linden: That's true
- [15:19] Bri Gufler: so their drivers might be picking up the movements and sending to Photoshop.
- [15:19] Dirk Talamasca: So is this an SL issue or something that 3dconnexion needs to look at instead?
- [15:19] Bridie Linden: Alexa, are you keeping track of space nav issues?
- [15:19] Bri Gufler: Just a guess. I havent tried it with the 3dconn drivers off.
- [15:19] Alexa Linden: ya, I'd have to go back and pull the main one
- [15:19] Squirrel Wood: Who dares multitask when they are on SL? :p
- [15:19] Meghan Dench: Me...
- [15:19] Meghan Dench: LOL
- [15:19] Bri Gufler: I do all the time :)
- [15:19] Bridie Linden: laughs
- [15:19] Meghan Dench: I am running two PC's atm
- [15:20] Meghan Dench: LOL
- [15:20] Alexa Linden: sorry, I wan't listening Squirrel
- [15:20] Meghan Dench: rofl
- [15:20] Alexa Linden: what'd you say? :p
- [15:20] Bridie Linden: meta issue Alexa, VWR-6363
- [15:20] Meghan Dench: *high 5*
- [15:20] Dirk Talamasca: me either.. I was multitasking
- [15:20] Squirrel Wood: ^^
- [15:20] Bridie Linden: let's import and link up
- [15:20] Alexa Linden: thanks bridie
- [15:20] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:20] Bridie Linden: for what? i wasn't listening
- [15:20] Bridie Linden: j/k
- [15:20] Alexa Linden: huh?
- [15:20] Alexa Linden: oh nm
- [15:20] Alexa Linden: missed that
- [15:20] Meghan Dench: Now you;re confusing me, Lindens
- [15:20] Meghan Dench: Baaaad
- [15:20] Bridie Linden: Next up
- [15:20] Bridie Linden: # VWR-6889[c
- [15:20] Squirrel Wood: 6889.... clear repro steps... should go right in in y'ask me
- [15:21] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6889
- [15:21] Squirrel Wood: if... typos... darn.
- [15:22] Bridie Linden: Let's import and assign to triage, pls
- [15:22] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:22] Bridie Linden: Another space nav one up next...
- [15:22] Bridie Linden: VWR-6848[c
- [15:22] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6848
- [15:22] Squirrel Wood: Hey Aric
- [15:22] Aric Linden: hey squirrel
- [15:23] Dirk Talamasca: hiya aric
- [15:23] Aric Linden: waves at Dirk
- [15:23] Aric Linden: ignores Pastrami
- [15:23] Meghan Dench: I can work on the build tonight and leave it at HCS, you can mod it there and add to it, then I'll ask if we can hand it in in bout 6 to 7 days? I can;t do it till then.
- [15:23] Pastrami Linden: sheds tears of Dr. Brown's soda
- [15:23] Ellla McMahon: Hello Aric :)
- [15:23] Bridie Linden: Hiya Aric
- [15:23] Meghan Dench: Wrong window, Aric's fault.
- [15:23] Aric Linden: Hi Ellla - glad to see you
- [15:24] Harleen Gretzky: Hi Aric
- [15:24] Bridie Linden: wonders if /VWR-6848 is still happening...
- [15:24] Squirrel Wood: this space navigated issue may also be caused by the not-using the drivers thing ?
- [15:24] Aric Linden: hey Harleen - thanks so much for doing agendas for the monday meeting - it's such a huge help
- [15:24] Harleen Gretzky: mp :)
- [15:25] Dirk Talamasca: That may be true Squirrel. May be more info needed
- [15:25] Bridie Linden: isn't this kinda opposite of the last one where space nav was working across all apps...?
- [15:25] Meghan Dench: :D
- [15:26] Bridie Linden: 6740 vs 6848
- [15:26] Squirrel Wood: not really.. this one is not detecting it when there is another gamepad connected
- [15:26] Alexa Linden: battle it out
- [15:26] Meghan Dench: Link them lol
- [15:26] Bridie Linden: Squirrel's right (again!)
- [15:26] Bri Gufler: hehe I think they're different. This last one says the Spacenav isn't even recognized if another joystick device is present.
- [15:27] Bridie Linden: Gold sarts to Squirrel and Bri
- [15:27] Alexa Linden: weeeeee
- [15:27] Bridie Linden: import and link to meta issue pls
- [15:27] Squirrel Wood: I neeeed Sarts! I neeeeed them or I will explode! That happens to me sometimes...
- [15:27] Alexa Linden: lol
- [15:27] Bridie Linden: Next up
- [15:27] Bridie Linden: VWR-7131[c
- [15:27] Aric Linden: passes Platinum Sarts to Squirrel under the table
- [15:27] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7131
- [15:27] Pastrami Linden: special layers huh
- [15:27] Bridie Linden: cake is making my tummy hurt
- [15:27] Meghan Dench: experienced Windlight properly last night for the FIRST time ever! :D
- [15:28] Willy Baroque: special layers like property lines?
- [15:28] Willy Baroque: those dont show through water
- [15:28] Meghan Dench: I've seent hat
- [15:28] Pastrami Linden: I think this was intentional based on Runitai's work
- [15:28] Pastrami Linden: I'd need to check with him
- [15:28] Pastrami Linden: Alexa want to assign to me?
- [15:29] Alexa Linden: ok :)
- [15:29] Squirrel Wood: XD
- [15:29] Bridie Linden: VWR-3172 was fixed...in Feb
- [15:29] Trinity Coulter: funny you had another one a few weeks ago saying property lines showed through everything
- [15:29] Bridie Linden: laughs
- [15:29] Meghan Dench: Yes I saw that, I mean
- [15:29] Meghan Dench: Show through everything
- [15:30] Meghan Dench: Like now
- [15:30] Dirk Talamasca: I understand this issue and if there were a way to disable shaders temporarily while editing terrain and pop them back into place once you have finished, this would work. As it is that is what I do to resolve it. You can easily see what you need to terraform underwater then.
- [15:30] Squirrel Wood: I use my terraformer to terraform :p
- [15:30] Trinity Coulter: you could probably turn off water rendering for a moment too
- [15:30] Gellan Glenelg: I use ctrl-alt-shift-7
- [15:30] Bridie Linden: Dirk, Trinity - add comments to issue?
- [15:31] Trinity Coulter: maybe add dirks, and close it
- [15:31] Trinity Coulter: the initial description of the problem is a bit vague
- [15:31] Bridie Linden: Or assign to pastrami :)
- [15:31] Bridie Linden: Next up
- [15:31] Bridie Linden: VWR-6833[c
- [15:32] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6833
- [15:32] Dirk Talamasca: Toss it on the meatwagon
- [15:33] Squirrel Wood: rc3 related.... but I think the crashing might be related to playing audio streams setting. Try unchecking Play Streaming Music and Play Streaming Media in preference by using CTRL-P before you log in. Since I have done that my login crashes have stopped. [ Show »
- [15:33] Alexa Linden: wow punctuation overload
- [15:33] Meghan Dench: WOW
- [15:33] Meghan Dench: Too much text
- [15:33] Meghan Dench: LOL
- [15:33] Trinity Coulter: crashed running two instances of SL
- [15:33] Trinity Coulter: it says
- [15:33] Alexa Linden: no more caffeine for residents posting :P
- [15:33] Meghan Dench: lmao
- [15:33] Bridie Linden: Resolve as 'can't repro', ask Resi to reopen if still an issue w/latest RC
- [15:33] Meghan Dench: face-plants.
- [15:34] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:34] Ellla McMahon: and only 562mb ram
- [15:34] Harleen Gretzky: Sounds like the apperence bug of RC3
- [15:34] Bridie Linden: We're waiting on repro steps on the next one...
- [15:34] Bridie Linden: so let's skip to...
- [15:34] Bridie Linden: [c
- [15:34] Squirrel Wood: not even when I have the driver shut down. ...
- [15:34] Dirk Talamasca: This issue happens on occasion if load is heavy. Clearing cache seems to resolve it and you cannot really login until you do. You can see IMs and get script messages but you just hang until you redmap
- [15:34] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7144
- [15:35] Bri Gufler: I see this problem randomly but have NOT been able to come up with reproducible circumstances for it yet.
- [15:35] Trinity Coulter: oh i've seen this happen
- [15:35] Meghan Dench: Is it when you are close to a prim
- [15:36] Meghan Dench: Or land
- [15:36] Meghan Dench: ?
- [15:36] Trinity Coulter: i was peeking at something my neighbor made
- [15:36] Bri Gufler: it does seem to happen more in a confined space.
- [15:36] Meghan Dench: Yes
- [15:36] Trinity Coulter: he has some weird space-ish elevators, and i wanted to read a sign inside it
- [15:36] Squirrel Wood: can't focus on the inside of a hollow prim... sound like that to me
- [15:36] Trinity Coulter: yes, Squirrel
- [15:36] Alexa Linden: I never have been albe to
- [15:36] Bri Gufler: it actually makes me really nauseous when it happens.
- [15:36] Squirrel Wood: old, old issue
- [15:36] Alexa Linden: I start getting whipped around
- [15:37] Aric Linden: gotta step away from the keyboard - not that I've been much use today anyway
- [15:37] Alexa Linden: Bye Aric
- [15:37] Meghan Dench: Aww
- [15:37] Meghan Dench: Byeee
- [15:37] Dirk Talamasca: If you want to cam into close quarters then re-enabling your camera restraints helps a LOT
- [15:37] Aric Linden: bye all
- [15:37] Trinity Coulter: bye Aric :)
- [15:37] Ellla McMahon: bye Aric :)
- [15:37] Squirrel Wood: cya
- [15:37] Bri Gufler: take care Aric
- [15:37] Bridie Linden: expected behavior?
- [15:37] Aric Linden: btw I won't be having a triage on Monday - I'll be sleeping instead
- [15:38] Trinity Coulter: yay
- [15:38] Alexa Linden: :D
- [15:38] Squirrel Wood: aww
- [15:38] Aric Linden: waves and blows kisses
- [15:38] Trinity Coulter: sleeping is always more fun
- [15:38] Marisa Naheed: hey there all
- [15:38] Harleen Gretzky: tc Aric
- [15:38] Squirrel Wood: post a sign a.... darn :p
- [15:38] Alexa Linden: I will
- [15:38] Alexa Linden: and I'll put at the top of the triage page too :)
- [15:38] Bridie Linden: so is 7144 known or expected (or both)?
- [15:38] Bri Gufler: you know - I can think of one thing related to the camera issue. I tend not to see it on my computer that doesn't have a 3dnavigator....
- [15:39] Bridie Linden: what's that Bri?
- [15:39] Squirrel Wood: 7144 is linked to the can't focus inside hollow prims issue methinks.
- [15:39] Squirrel Wood: as that causes the camera to spaz out sort of.
- [15:39] Bri Gufler: The camera issue that we were discussing. I see it on the computer that has a 3dnavigator but can't recall seeing it on my other machine.
- [15:39] Bridie Linden: Gotcha Bri
- [15:39] Dirk Talamasca: I'd say that this has become an issue since disabling camera restraints became more prevalent.. But that the behavior isn't unexpected, it is a result of having that feature enabled vs the default
- [15:39] Gellan Glenelg: I'vce not seen it; I don't have a spacenavigator
- [15:40] Bri Gufler: I will definitely be more cognizant of that though and add to the Jira if I see a correlation.
- [15:40] Bridie Linden: Thx Bri
- [15:40] Bridie Linden: I'll see if I can find other issues to link to
- [15:40] Bridie Linden: Next up ...
- [15:40] Bridie Linden: # VWR-6984[c
- [15:40] Meghan Dench: Any word on the Micro Outages on Jira and Wiki btw?
- [15:41] Trinity Coulter: oh i have seen weird fonts before.... but usually i just need to restart my comp
- [15:41] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6984
- [15:41] Squirrel Wood: old, old card, old drivers ?
- [15:41] Bridie Linden: linux
- [15:42] Trinity Coulter: those pictures make SL look all weird and blue
- [15:42] Bridie Linden: I think there are some Linux font fixes coming in next RC...
- [15:42] Dirk Talamasca: sl is all weird and blue
- [15:42] Bridie Linden: I'll ping Tofu about this one
- [15:43] Bridie Linden: Next up
- [15:43] Bridie Linden: VWR-7119[c
- [15:43] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7119
- [15:43] Alexa Linden: link to meta issue?
- [15:44] Bridie Linden: Yup, import and link up
- [15:44] Alexa Linden: k
- [15:44] Bri Gufler: It appears linked on PJIRA
- [15:44] Bridie Linden: Next VWR-6016[c
- [15:44] Alexa Linden: k- Ill check that out
- [15:44] Alexa Linden: thanks
- [15:44] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6016
- [15:46] Bridie Linden: Reported on Linux and XP?
- [15:46] Willy Baroque: noticed that a lot on linux here
- [15:47] Bridie Linden: I'd like a repro
- [15:47] Bridie Linden: Dagwood says it happens in Badlands
- [15:47] Alexa Linden: ok - I can ask for one
- [15:47] Alexa Linden: laggy area
- [15:47] Bridie Linden: Maybe import and ask QA to try and repro
- [15:47] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:48] Dirk Talamasca: Spend a lot of time there do ya, Alexa?
- [15:48] Bridie Linden: Next up
- [15:48] Bridie Linden: VWR-6246[c
- [15:48] Alexa Linden: I'm a world traveler :D
- [15:48] Dirk Talamasca: lol
- [15:48] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6246
- [15:48] Gellan Glenelg: Simil's comment near end: "Disabling the joystick in SL1.20.1's preferences solves the problem."
- [15:48] Squirrel Wood: mac issue
- [15:49] Bridie Linden: Mighty mouse issue?
- [15:49] Trinity Coulter: what is a joystick anyway
- [15:49] Squirrel Wood: [2]
- [15:49] Willy Baroque: a stick which brings you joy
- [15:49] Trinity Coulter: *peeks*
- [15:50] Bridie Linden: We should ask reporter to try w/latest RC
- [15:50] Bridie Linden: Next up
- [15:50] Bridie Linden: VWR-6252[c
- [15:50] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6252
- [15:51] Bridie Linden: sort of more of a request for Rx...
- [15:51] Bridie Linden: I suspect there are others like this
- [15:51] Trinity Coulter: oh that's like the IM's being almost impossible to see now
- [15:51] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:52] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-4575
- [15:52] Bri Gufler: I have noticed that the Dazzle color scheme seems to have contrast issues on some displays. But it really varies for display to display.
- [15:52] Bridie Linden: true Bri
- [15:52] Squirrel Wood: Many displays are not properly configured.
- [15:52] Squirrel Wood: too bright, not enough or too much contrast, ...
- [15:52] Bridie Linden: i think let's resolve 6252 as a dupe
- [15:52] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:52] Squirrel Wood: or they are just way old and dark.
- [15:52] Bridie Linden: True Squirrel
- [15:53] Bridie Linden: (more gold sarts)
- [15:53] Meghan Dench: SARTS!
- [15:53] Squirrel Wood: Sart shower! Wooo!
- [15:53] Bridie Linden: Rx is looking @ these issues
- [15:53] Bri Gufler: and I agree with Squirrels comment. Though it can be tough on some laptops.
- [15:53] Alexa Linden: that's why I like https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6543
- [15:53] Dirk Talamasca: You are a supersart
- [15:53] Trinity Coulter: i don't think mine is dark
- [15:53] Bridie Linden: grins @ Dirk!
- [15:53] Alexa Linden: being able to save your default setting
- [15:53] Bridie Linden: Next up VWR-6300[c
- [15:54] Squirrel Wood: hmm.. like some 1st person shooters mayhaps SL should offer an option to configure the monitor?
- [15:54] Bridie Linden: I believe this has been fixed
- [15:54] Squirrel Wood: brightness, contrast at least
- [15:54] Harleen Gretzky: This is an old RC0 problem, isn't it?
- [15:54] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:54] Bridie Linden: dupe
- [15:54] Dirk Talamasca: I agree that this would be a very nice feature.. but it would be a feature request, not a bug
- [15:54] Meghan Dench: Pastrami your av is awesome
- [15:54] Bridie Linden: One more for today
- [15:55] Bridie Linden: VWR-6388[c
- [15:55] Trinity Coulter: what if a feature bugs you
- [15:55] Pastrami Linden: :)
- [15:55] Meghan Dench: LOL
- [15:55] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6388
- [15:55] Alexa Linden: create a feature request
- [15:55] Kooky Jetaime: I've seen this
- [15:55] Squirrel Wood: driver / heat issue
- [15:55] Alexa Linden: is it?
- [15:56] Bri Gufler: In almost every case I have seen this a driver update was the solution.
- [15:56] Alexa Linden: I swear I get this all the time
- [15:56] Trinity Coulter: i had that same thing
- [15:56] Gellan Glenelg: i've had several people ask about this; in aall cases, updating graphics drivers fixed it
- [15:56] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:56] Trinity Coulter: and i had to turn off the OpenGL checkbox
- [15:56] Alexa Linden: good to know
