- [15:05] Alexa Linden: ya
- [15:05] Alexa Linden: it happened a bit this last weekend
- [15:06] Alexa Linden: but if I waited it was fine
- [15:06] Bridie Linden: Hmm - so should that be a 'can't repro'? or?
- [15:06] Daedalus Young: haven't seen it, then again I rarely use that
- [15:06] Alexa Linden: ya, I'd mark it as that
- [15:06] Bridie Linden: kk
- [15:06] Keisha Ninetails: I've seen it but, a second right click of the folder in question clears it up
- [15:06] Alexa Linden: ya
- [15:06] Squirrel Wood: related to inventory caching on the client side ?

- [15:13] Pastrami Linden: question
- [15:14] Simon Kline: lol
- [15:14] Alexa Linden: lol
- [15:14] Pastrami Linden: about workflow here-
- [15:14] Alexa Linden: yus?
- [15:14] Pastrami Linden: when we say things like "oh, update drivers-"
- [15:14] Pastrami Linden: what then? is someone commenting as such?
- [15:14] Pastrami Linden: should I?
- [15:14] Alexa Linden: I do
- [15:14] Pastrami Linden: oh okay
- [15:14] Pastrami Linden: cool
- [15:14] Pastrami Linden: thx!
- [15:14] Alexa Linden: I will say "please try updating your drivers"
- [15:15] Alexa Linden: and resolve as.......
- [15:15] Bridie Linden: But I think Alexa wouldn't mind if you commented with any further info Pastrami...
- [15:15] Bridie Linden: like, 'please come to my office hrs'
- [15:15] Bridie Linden: falls over
- [15:15] Bridie Linden: j/k

- [15:16] Taryn London: lots of sarts
- [15:16] Cummere Mayo: ill try to attend i have work tomarrow though
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: next one I think is a dupe...
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: VWR-5992[c
- [15:16] Pastrami Linden: fixed
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: dupe of VWR-3984
- [15:16] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: fix pending!
- [15:16] Pastrami Linden: yep
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: sarts for all!
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: if only PJIRA would have let me log in, I would have resolved as such
- [15:16] Alexa Linden: there are more seats on the couches for anyone
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: We don't want tired avatars...
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: Next up....
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: VWR-6010[c
- [15:17] Daedalus Young: avatars become transparent when they're tired, you know
- [15:17] Pastrami Linden: hmm
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: laughs
- [15:17] Daedalus Young: looks like dupe too
- [15:17] Aric Linden: Daedalus, I thought they just became imposters
- [15:18] Daedalus Young: I've seen several 'Mac crash' issues with Snapshots lately
- [15:18] Cummere Mayo: thats a dup. i ran out of timeso i only linked graphics card and cam issues. and imposters are borked aric
- [15:18] Squirrel Wood: MAC PowerPC G5 2GHZ 8GB RAM 256 NVIDIA
- [15:18] Aric Linden: how do you really feal Cummere?
- [15:18] Pastrami Linden: We should rename impostors as Avatar Milli Vanillis
- [15:18] Rex Cronon: people haven't rezzed for me yet. so i don't want to sit on sombodies head:)
- [15:18] Bridie Linden: Let's find dupe (later)
- [15:18] Aric Linden: /feel/feal
- [15:18] Daedalus Young: lol
- [15:18] Alexa Linden: HHAHAHAHAHA
- [15:18] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:19] Bridie Linden: great descr on next one...
- [15:19] Bridie Linden: VWR-6037[c
- [15:19] Alexa Linden: resolving - dup - will find it and list it later
- [15:19] Aric Linden: I think pastrami was born to deal with this one
- [15:20] Pastrami Linden: checking
- [15:20] Bridie Linden: but prolly a dupe of the others, right?
- [15:20] Cummere Mayo: or at least realted to yes
- [15:20] Pastrami Linden: oh okay I know what to say here-
- [15:20] Aric Linden: I think the cards non-properly supported is the magic phrase
- [15:20] Alexa Linden: listens
- [15:20] Pastrami Linden: tell them the BEST thing to do is come to my office hours, tomorrow at 3:00PM PST
- [15:20] Pastrami Linden: see
- [15:20] Pastrami Linden: that way
- [15:20] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:20] Pastrami Linden: you've misquoted the hours
- [15:20] Pastrami Linden: and they'll show up....
- [15:20] Pastrami Linden: and NO ONE WILL BE THERE! AHAHAAHAHAHAAHA
- [15:21] Alexa Linden: ebol linden
- [15:21] Pastrami Linden: that'll show them
- [15:21] Bridie Linden: lol
- [15:21] Pastrami Linden: no, no, tell them to come
- [15:21] Bridie Linden: you won't get off that easy, sir
- [15:21] Daedalus Young: and then they crash
- [15:21] Pastrami Linden: we shall welcome them like Ellis Island
- [15:21] Keisha Ninetails: ok, Pastrami, please verify the time of your office hours tomorrow
- [15:21] Pastrami Linden: hehe, sorry
- [15:21] Aric Linden: with lice spray and isolation
- [15:21] Pastrami Linden: 12:00-2:00pm PST
- [15:21] Squirrel Wood: Oh well. I do have an NVidia 7950GT here and NONE of those "graphic card" related problems.
- [15:21] Pastrami Linden: lol Aric
- [15:21] Daedalus Young: remembers the good times we only discussed crashes here :)
- [15:22] Bridie Linden: Sorry Daed...back to the agenda
- [15:22] Bridie Linden: NExt up
- [15:22] Bridie Linden: VWR-6158[c
- [15:22] Pastrami Linden: sorry
- [15:22] Pastrami Linden: :)
- [15:23] Bridie Linden: "As a side effect of these temporary changes, some group and avatar profile services will not be available."
- [15:23] Bitterly Sweet: gave you folderbug.
- [15:23] Daedalus Young: I think this is because the viewwer waits until the profile is loaded before enabling buttons
- [15:23] Celierra Darling: Hmm...I mentioned this once on #sldev and llKelly mentioned that it was probably an unintentional side effect
- [15:23] Bridie Linden: From blog post
- [15:23] Squirrel Wood: That's what contact cards are there for...
- [15:24] Cummere Mayo: yes but that doesnt always work
- [15:24] Celierra Darling: As in, the ability to start IMs to non-friends is not something that was meant to be turned off when they turned off profiles
- [15:24] Bridie Linden: Let's see if we can confirm this w/Kelly and update PJIRA
- [15:24] Bridie Linden: I'm not sure of the answer.
- [15:25] Bridie Linden: Next up...
- [15:25] Bridie Linden: VWR-5528[c
- [15:26] Pastrami Linden: checking
- [15:26] Bridie Linden: I couldn't repro this one...
- [15:26] Pastrami Linden: weird
- [15:26] Squirrel Wood: ati card...
- [15:26] Pastrami Linden: haven't seen something like this in a while
- [15:26] Aric Linden: I don't actually understand the problem
- [15:26] Daedalus Young: I have seen weirdly coloured textures in some ancient RC, but they reverted to the proper texture within a few seconds
- [15:27] Daedalus Young: and that's a long time ago since it last happened
- [15:27] Cummere Mayo: dup i think
- [15:27] Bridie Linden: The wrong textures show up
- [15:27] Pastrami Linden: import, assign to me
- [15:27] Bridie Linden: Is there a good repro?
- [15:27] Keisha Ninetails: are they perhaps getting the initial low rez versions of the textures with the full rez versions failing to download?
- [15:27] Pastrami Linden: no
- [15:27] Pastrami Linden: it wouldn't look like that
- [15:28] Bridie Linden: Is there enough info for you to go on Pastrami?
- [15:28] Pastrami Linden: yep
- [15:28] Aric Linden: applauds pastrami
- [15:28] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:28] Daedalus Young: hi Colton
- [15:28] Pastrami Linden: will likely result in a cannot repro
- [15:28] Colton Linden: Hias
- [15:28] Bridie Linden: oh wait, we already imported VWR-5963
- [15:28] Squirrel Wood: Hello Colton!
- [15:28] Pastrami Linden: to whom is it assigned?
- [15:28] Pastrami Linden: I don't think I got it
- [15:29] Bridie Linden: looks
- [15:29] Bridie Linden: jas
- [15:29] Celierra Darling: Are they really duplicates of each other?
- [15:29] Pastrami Linden: jas it was on me or jas it wasn't
- [15:29] Harleen Gretzky: Doesn't look like it, IMO
- [15:29] Bridie Linden: jas== just a sec
- [15:30] Pastrami Linden: ahh okay
- [15:30] Bridie Linden: internal issues is on Cheah's plate
- [15:30] Pastrami Linden: okay
- [15:30] Pastrami Linden: that's fine
- [15:30] Bridie Linden: both issues are about repeating textures...5963 has a bit more info
- [15:30] Bridie Linden: but Meghan's had more pix
- [15:30] Harleen Gretzky: Yes but 5963 is not about wrong textures
- [15:31] Daedalus Young: look different issues to me too
- [15:31] Bridie Linden: ah, you're both right
- [15:31] Bridie Linden: my bad, let's import VWR-5528
- [15:32] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:32] Pastrami Linden: give it to moi
- [15:32] Bridie Linden: I think Tofu already fixed the next one, sorry
- [15:32] Bridie Linden: VWR-5641[c
- [15:32] Daedalus Young: yep
- [15:32] Bridie Linden: Next one
- [15:32] Bridie Linden: VWR-6019[c
- [15:33] Daedalus Young: that reproes
- [15:33] Bridie Linden: Let's take it
- [15:33] Gellan Glenelg: and it's a change in behavious from 1.19.0
- [15:33] Aric Linden: import to triage
- [15:33] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:33] Bridie Linden: Next up...
- [15:34] Bridie Linden: VWR-5996[c
- [15:34] Daedalus Young: well
- [15:34] Daedalus Young: I'm on Mac, but can't say I've seen this
- [15:34] Bridie Linden: nor I...
- [15:34] Pastrami Linden: 16gb of ram?
- [15:34] Pastrami Linden: my God
- [15:34] Daedalus Young: I've had SL running for hours (and I mean hours) and could still happily continue to use it
- [15:34] Bitterly Sweet: ums rorry all i got to bail. Call came in
- [15:34] Bridie Linden: Thx Bitterly, see ya
- [15:34] Daedalus Young: with less than 16 GB RAM :P
- [15:34] Alexa Linden: Bye Bitterly!
- [15:34] Rex Cronon: bye bitterly
- [15:35] Celierra Darling: This seems backwards - clicking on another item should commit, and pressing Esc should cancel?
- [15:35] Pastrami Linden: I dunno here- you can assign to us, but my guess is it will be cannto repro
- [15:35] Bridie Linden: Resolve as 'can't repro'?
- [15:35] Pastrami Linden: yeah
- [15:35] Alexa Linden: ya, I'd say can't repro
- [15:35] Celierra Darling: missed the change in issue
- [15:35] Rex Cronon: r u talkig about 5996?
- [15:35] Alexa Linden: VWR-5996
- [15:35] Gellan Glenelg: I tend to agree, Celierra, but on 1.19.0, ESC commits the change
- [15:35] Aric Linden: i agree with pastrami
- [15:36] Pastrami Linden: WWPD
- [15:36] Cummere Mayo: i think she meant 1.6
- [15:36] Daedalus Young: lol
- [15:36] Squirrel Wood: 1.6 would still be an odd number
- [15:36] Bridie Linden: Gellan could you add your comments to that issue?
- [15:36] Gellan Glenelg: sure
- [15:36] Bridie Linden: VWR-6019 that is
- [15:36] Bridie Linden: thx
- [15:36] Gellan Glenelg: on it now
- [15:36] Bridie Linden: ty
- [15:36] Bridie Linden: next another video card issue?
- [15:36] Bridie Linden: VWR-6012[c
- [15:37] Pastrami Linden: yes
- [15:37] Daedalus Young: Snapshot 3 there at least has pink & green, so can't be all bad :P
- [15:37] Pastrami Linden: we have been getting lots of reports of 9800 issues
- [15:37] Rex Cronon: i think i heard that macs use the graphics card to render the GUI. that might play a role in the slow down
- [15:37] Alexa Linden: lol
- [15:37] Bridie Linden: 'Since I updated to the new viewer version I get bad artifacts all over my screen ...'
- [15:37] Pastrami Linden: Alexa- want to import and assign to me- Zen should take a look at this
- [15:37] Aric Linden: prolly ought to wipe the screen down
- [15:37] Mastorian Kingsford: on the ati 1250s the light now adds a purple haze on snow sims and fake maountains tend to glow at night
- [15:38] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:38] Rex Cronon: isn't disabaling vbo going to fix that?
- [15:38] Cummere Mayo: allot fo the radeon and nvidea cards that worked great on the previous release suddenly stopped working so great.
- [15:38] Squirrel Wood: and once more I suggest to update the drivers :)
- [15:38] Bridie Linden: Next up....
- [15:38] Bridie Linden: VWR-6024[c
- [15:38] Bridie Linden: oh noes
- [15:38] Bridie Linden: 'I recently purchased a new video card (going from an ATI to an NVidia) ....'
- [15:38] Bridie Linden: ;)
- [15:38] Alexa Linden: close your eyes?
- [15:39] Aric Linden: this one is proof that we shouldn't let children use sl
- [15:39] Colton Linden: lol
- [15:39] Alexa Linden: LOL
- [15:39] Colton Linden: don't spin 10x before sitting at computer
- [15:39] Cummere Mayo: lol
- [15:39] Daedalus Young: sounds like the machine just can't handle
- [15:39] Rex Cronon: some people do have bad eyesight
- [15:39] Mastorian Kingsford: its the shading tweaks for nvidal both blizzard and sony did this to thier games when they shaded for 3.0
- [15:39] Daedalus Young: like if you have high ping sim, you keep on walking after you stop pressing the up-key
- [15:39] Mastorian Kingsford: alota sti cards saw the tearing and weird lighting
- [15:40] Cummere Mayo: but that computer shoudl handel it
- [15:40] Aric Linden: pastrami, is there useful info here for you
- [15:40] Pastrami Linden: I'd make sure they actually installed the drivers for that card
- [15:40] Pastrami Linden: not really
- [15:40] Daedalus Young: btw, even when it's all working fine you still can get nauseous, I know :/
- [15:40] Bridie Linden: Fair point, Daed
- [15:40] Pastrami Linden: they should do a clean install
- [15:40] Daedalus Young: we need motion blur for that
- [15:40] Alexa Linden: do you want to post that Pastrami?
- [15:40] Bridie Linden: Pastrami want to add some comments?
- [15:41] Alexa Linden: jinx
- [15:41] Bridie Linden: beer Alexa
- [15:41] Alexa Linden: :p
- [15:41] Pastrami Linden: yep, I will now
- [15:41] Alexa Linden: thanks
- [15:41] Bridie Linden: Resolve as dupe or 'can't repro'?
- [15:41] Pastrami Linden: can't repro
- [15:41] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:41] Pastrami Linden: though /me sees this coming back to bite is in the a#$
- [15:41] Pastrami Linden: ^us
- [15:41] Cummere Mayo: um suggest they update the direct draw too
- [15:41] Pastrami Linden: as a bigger issue
- [15:42] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:42] Bridie Linden: Next up...
- [15:42] Bridie Linden: VWR-6092[c
- [15:42] Bridie Linden: Feature request?
- [15:42] Squirrel Wood: yes
- [15:42] Alexa Linden: is she creating a new one?
- [15:43] Harleen Gretzky: Didn't you used to be able to do this though?
- [15:43] Daedalus Young: well it reproes
- [15:43] Alexa Linden: ok - I can move from bug to Feature
- [15:43] Cummere Mayo: yes you used to be able to
- [15:43] Cummere Mayo: you can still drag it out though
- [15:43] Daedalus Young: I think you used to have the option, yeah
- [15:43] Bridie Linden: let's ping Benjamin about this one...
- [15:43] Aric Linden: alexa, you should import and assign to rX too
- [15:43] Aric Linden: jinx diet pepsi
- [15:43] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:43] Rex Cronon: if u could do it before, how can it be a feature?
- [15:43] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:43] Alexa Linden: as a feature request?
- [15:43] Bridie Linden: I'm a coca-cola girl myself...
- [15:44] Cummere Mayo: to re-add soemthign we could do before?
- [15:44] Bridie Linden: tho I don't really drink soda any more...
- [15:44] Aric Linden: reg coke, but diet pepsi
- [15:44] Pastrami Linden: Aric you're a wild man
- [15:44] Bridie Linden: Ask Benjamin if we removed it on purpose (seems strange tho)
- [15:44] Alexa Linden: smiles
- [15:45] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:45] Bridie Linden: curazy! as Aric likes to say
- [15:45] Daedalus Young: because the landmarks have changed, adding a button would be a new feature in this behavior
- [15:45] Bridie Linden: Daed, the next one claims to be a crash!
- [15:45] Bridie Linden: VWR-6097[c
- [15:45] Daedalus Young: w00t!
- [15:45] Daedalus Young: ah yes
- [15:46] Daedalus Young: but that's a dupe, isn't it?
- [15:46] Bridie Linden: Looks like...
- [15:46] Daedalus Young: at least I linked it to vwr-3529 as dupe
- [15:46] Bridie Linden: one sec
- [15:47] Bridie Linden: or VWR-5623?
- [15:47] Bridie Linden: periapse has been adding info there
- [15:48] Daedalus Young: at least related, it crashes on 5623 when it creates the next login background image
- [15:48] Daedalus Young: if I understood correctly
- [15:48] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:49] Cummere Mayo: yeah ild say related but not neccisarily dupe to 5623
- [15:49] Bridie Linden: resolve 6097 as a dupe?
- [15:49] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:49] Cummere Mayo: nods
- [15:49] Bridie Linden: link as related to VWR-5623, pls
- [15:49] Cummere Mayo: will do
- [15:49] Bridie Linden: Next
- [15:49] Bridie Linden: VWR-6128[c
- [15:49] Pastrami Linden: resolve - don't run multiple viewers
- [15:49] Rex Cronon: no kidding:)
- [15:50] Pastrami Linden: :)
- [15:50] Mastorian Kingsford: lol
- [15:50] Bridie Linden: falls over
- [15:50] Keisha Ninetails: pfft
- [15:50] Taryn London: lol
- [15:50] Pastrami Linden: well, it's *not* supported!
- [15:50] Cummere Mayo: yeah
- [15:50] Keisha Ninetails: -multiple
- [15:50] Keisha Ninetails: you sure? :p
- [15:50] Pastrami Linden: Keisha
- [15:50] Squirrel Wood: I typically notice that running a 2nd viewer will make that one run at ten seconds per frame.
- [15:50] Cummere Mayo: im soryr but thats a duh. running multiple of ANYTHING will eventually lead to packetloss
- [15:50] Daedalus Young: I haven't ran multiple viewers with 1.19.1.4 yet, but it worked fine previously
- [15:50] Pastrami Linden: try out all the Debug Settings- dare ya ;)
- [15:50] Daedalus Young: and just setting max bandwidth lower
- [15:50] Keisha Ninetails: I have, there are a few that are crahers lol
- [15:50] Pastrami Linden: hmm, if that works
- [15:50] Trinity Coulter: might I ask a quick question to confirm... but "Tester" is the last name Linden Lab uses for test accounts, isn't it?
- [15:51] Squirrel Wood: Yes
- [15:51] Aric Linden: trinity, yes
- [15:51] Trinity Coulter: kk
- [15:51] Trinity Coulter: we had a Mentor asking about an object left behind by a Performance4 Tester
- [15:51] Harleen Gretzky: measures sim performance
- [15:52] Keisha Ninetails: aren't the Performance accounts just bots?
- [15:52] Bridie Linden: Back to 6128....
- [15:52] Trinity Coulter: ty :))
- [15:52] Alexa Linden: so what is out action on 6128?
- [15:52] Daedalus Young: won't finish?
- [15:52] Bridie Linden: Aric, would QA want to look @?
- [15:52] Cummere Mayo: hoenstly ild say multipe vierer insances nto suppoted and clsoe it
- [15:52] Squirrel Wood: Yum! I love my connection... [3]
- [15:53] Alexa Linden: I agree with Cummere
- [15:53] Cummere Mayo: yall got bigger fish that need fried
- [15:53] Rex Cronon: but what if the user has a T1 line, or better?
- [15:53] Bridie Linden: leans towards what Cummere said too
- [15:53] Trinity Coulter: yes, i don't think -multiple is a big deal
- [15:53] Daedalus Young: then this wouldn't be an issue, Rex
- [15:53] Keisha Ninetails: at least a needs more info to see what settings they are using to see how madly overloaded their system is
- [15:53] Bridie Linden: I'm curious about that one tho...
- [15:53] Cummere Mayo: im betting if we get toher bigger bugs dealt with , that one will resolve itself
- [15:54] Alexa Linden: I run 2 instances all the time but have to drop my settings to the bottom
- [15:54] Aric Linden: sorry, got interupted
- [15:54] Aric Linden: looking at 6128 right now
- [15:54] Aric Linden: bridie, i don't think so
- [15:54] Daedalus Young: I commented they could try lowering their max bandwidth
- [15:54] Aric Linden: the -multiple has just changed a little
- [15:54] Alexa Linden: ya
- [15:55] Bridie Linden: so 'won't finish'?
- [15:55] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:55] Keisha Ninetails: -multiple AND -port, I used to forget the -port and would constantly get disconnected
- [15:55] Cummere Mayo: has a theory that theirsimply being more affected by already existant performance problems in the viewer harder
- [15:55] Bridie Linden: One more for today?
- [15:55] Bridie Linden: VWR-6107[c
- [15:55] Daedalus Young: umm... driver? maybe?
- [15:56] Bridie Linden: Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
- [15:56] Mastorian Kingsford: better add fans if you use nvida more heat in box
- [15:57] Pastrami Linden: either that or network issues- who's to say it's nto linked to original ruthing
- [15:57] Daedalus Young: LL should have a graphic card manufactoring branch
- [15:57] Bridie Linden: lol
- [15:57] Pastrami Linden: Daedalus, no we should NOT
