Agenda
Agenda for the next user group meeting is: LL developer news then open discussion.
- Resident Proposed Agenda Items
- SVC-914 CHANGED_TEXTURE is not triggered when texture is changed via script Are those broken vendors still in use (that would break if we fixed the bug)? If not, can this be fixed yet? (MartinRJ)
- Physical Memory leak https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7749 Is this a HAVOK bug? What are the plans for dealing with it?
- Regression tester is regression-y! https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7357
- Can we get LL to look at https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4933
- Does the RevokePermissions message still work? It doesn't seem to now.
- What is the status of SVC 472?
- Could people volunteer to post the transcripts more regularly? There are 3 weeks full of missing logs now and it hits hard, since it affects the ability to make references to factual answers by lindens, visiting transcripts of topics you couldn't attend, etc.
- In the modernisation of SL, why has all effeort for new features seemed to be targeted at Mesh? I feel that the biggest immersion killer, and the area where SL is lagging behind other MMOs the most, right now is not having seamless sim crossings, and not being able to traverse the seas. [Davido Chrome]
- Lets get some action on https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SCR-37
- VWR-28609 Please add PRIM_NAME and PRIM_DESC to keywords.ini (MartinRJ)
- SVC-7779 changed() reports CHANGE_LOCOMOTION_STATE (MartinRJ)
- VWR-28634 The build-(tools-)window pops open if the dragged object under your mouse dies or gets deleted. (MartinRJ)
- Place four 1x1x1m sized default prims on top of each other and make them physical. Give them a slight kick. They will keep wobbling/swinging back and forth forever! (MartinRJ)
- How does the simulator handle avatar animations? I assume whether the viewer uses a HUD or built-in AO the walk script one is using must be conveyed to others so they can see it. Does the region's server remember that, cache the animation or send others to the asset server to get it... how does it work on the server side? Nalates Urriah 10:15, 13 April 2012 (PDT)
- What happened to VWR-14674 ? (Motor Loon)
- SVC-8031 stipend tax is flat, not progressive (originally: "Why is no region named Krugman?) Fund the stipend with a two-bracket progressive income tax, where anyone making x% above median income pays y% on the excess, which is distributed in equal proportion to those eligible for the stipend with less than L$z who has logged in over the past w days, where (x, y, z, w) are optimized for economic growth, instead of the flat L$ purchase transaction tax, which is regressive.
- Improperly closed, reopened, improperly archived, escalated, Twitter campaign to @rodvik and @mkapor pending Linden resolution. I continue to propose that the effect on user retention and spending of lessening the transaction fee on low income earners and raising it on high income earners should be measured. Concurrency and cashflow are decoupled from the world economy, so action is needed to stimulate growth. All of the existing L$ taxes (transaction, VAT) are flat, and therefore regressive. Bond rates in France are down 0.2% since Sarcozy lost to a constitution-amending Socialist supermajority.
- There is some question as to whether this is seen as a new tax, or a correction of the existing flat transaction fee tax.
